The Mississippi Center for Advancement of Prehospital Medicine’s has been awarded a nearly $200,000 grant through the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration. As a result, MSCAPM is partnering with physicians at the Mississippi State Hospital to develop and deliver an EMS-specific course on Mental Health Wellness for our providers. This course will be delivered in person in the north, central and south of Mississippi. To ensure easy access for all providers, these course will also have an option for online delivery for those who are not able to attend in person. During this course, participants will learn the signs of mental health stress and learn successful coping mechanisms along with resources available in times of need.
